Well I got this in my email and had to share. Yeah yeah I know the blog is still in holiday mode. Of course I am on "Summer Holiday" Heehee
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH:
Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know! YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758.
6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

About Teaching Art
I picked this up from another homeschool mom/blogger/author. I know there are those including me (miss artsy fartsy) that seem to miss the subject of art. This is a very interesting interview on this subject.
Give it a listen and then if nothing else give your kids a chance to dip their toes into the world of Arts and Crafts. Who knows you may have inspired the next great Artist of the century.

Took Boys Skiing
And the sky was just the perfect color blue with this gorgeous moon. Here's the picture I took of that moon. I have a few pictures of the boys skiing and snowboarding. But it was hard to get a good picture with all the people that seemed to always get in the way. I'll have to clean those pictures up and post those later.

Calling all homeschoolers!
I want to know what your views are on "mandatory" registration with the state. If you live in a state that requires registration or a state that doesn't. Are you for or against it? Why? What are your personal experiences on this. If your state doen't require it can you tell me what your reaction would be if they decided to introduce legislation requiring this.
Personally I am dead against it. I have seen the individual school districts abuse this asking for more than the state legislation required. Even telling some that they won't be approved if they don't answer unnecessary questions. So I want to know.
