I can't help but wonder what the conversation is about. LOL! Now I just wish I could figure out how to post this.

New V8 V-Fusioon Energy Beverage. $1 coupon
I sure hope that one of the stores around here will carry this. Seems like we have stores get some new items and at other times nothing. Sure wish there was a way to know.

Nifty Baby Towel Idea
I know my boys are teens now but I sure wish I had known about this idea when they were little. There I was using those cheap crooked lopsided baby towels, and I could have made these. Considering I made my own diaper doublers why not? So check it out on the "It's A Priceless Life" Blog

Really some people complain just to complain!
Honestly I hear some that have problems and I think it's because they are coloring on freshly washed hair, and not applying Vaseline around the hairline. Some aren't doing spot testing first either. So here are my tips for hair coloring.
1. don't wash your hair for one to two days before coloring. (that way your natural oils can help protect your scalp)
2. To prevent staining around your hairline put your hair up in a pony tail and apply a thin layer of Vaseline all around and on your ears before starting.
3. Test before trying a new product. You maybe sensitive to it.
4. Start with the minimum time then work your way up to a longer time. (my hair dresser always ends up going waaaaay longer than the maximum time even for her stuff so I know 45minutes at the least for me. My SIL just barely the minimum time.)
5. Lock the kids out when doing your hair. (trust me on that one!)

New Foam Hair Color by Clairol
Well I just finished coloring my hair. I used the Dark Brown, and may I say I am so far very pleased. Minus one peeve. I have very thick, coarse, straight, long hair. I purchased 2 boxes thinking I would need 2. I usually use 1 and 1/2 boxes for my hair. I usually drip color all over my bathroom and am a real mess. Not this time! I only used one box, and it really did cover my gray hairs. Usually the gray is colored, but still obviously gray. Also my hair is a true black so mostly I color for the gray and my black still looks black. Well this time my hair looks DARK BROWN! WOW! Perhaps next time I will try something with red tints see what happens. I have to say the smell was different from the average hair color. I think they were going for a floral scent, and the fumes were GAG! Strong to say the least. Man did my eyes water! But that's to be expected it is a chemical process after all.
My only real beef with this and all the other brands I've tried is there is not enough conditioner. Now that little packet covered a small patch of my hair at the bottom back. I ended up giving up trying to spread it around, and just went and used my regular leave in conditioner when I was done. You really do need to put more conditioner in these boxes. I mean those 2 packets are for now and later? Heck I could use both and barely have enough for my hair, much less for later.
I will have to see how long this lasts, and how my hair holds up. Who knows could all fall out tomorrow. ( as if I could be so lucky)

Your age by chocolate math
Well I got this in my email and had to share. Yeah yeah I know the blog is still in holiday mode. Of course I am on "Summer Holiday" Heehee
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH:
Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know! YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758.
6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

About Teaching Art
I picked this up from another homeschool mom/blogger/author. I know there are those including me (miss artsy fartsy) that seem to miss the subject of art. This is a very interesting interview on this subject.
Give it a listen and then if nothing else give your kids a chance to dip their toes into the world of Arts and Crafts. Who knows you may have inspired the next great Artist of the century.

Took Boys Skiing
And the sky was just the perfect color blue with this gorgeous moon. Here's the picture I took of that moon. I have a few pictures of the boys skiing and snowboarding. But it was hard to get a good picture with all the people that seemed to always get in the way. I'll have to clean those pictures up and post those later.

Calling all homeschoolers!
I want to know what your views are on "mandatory" registration with the state. If you live in a state that requires registration or a state that doesn't. Are you for or against it? Why? What are your personal experiences on this. If your state doen't require it can you tell me what your reaction would be if they decided to introduce legislation requiring this.
Personally I am dead against it. I have seen the individual school districts abuse this asking for more than the state legislation required. Even telling some that they won't be approved if they don't answer unnecessary questions. So I want to know.

Toto this is not Hawaii!
If you have a hard time reading this click and drag your mouse over the text to highlight and then you can read much better.
Just about now I'm really missing those Green and Bright Christmases were the sun shines by day and the stars glow at night. Now my friends and family in Oregon and Washington have been bombarded with snow and ice this last week or so, but wow! They have what we normally get and we have a small blizzard! For example ( now keep in mind I'm no Pioneer Woman) this is just the "Winter Storm Warning" on Monday. There was a thin layer of snow when we went to bed. Nothing coming out of the sky either. We just figured OK the normal stuff. We get this warning every winter since we've been up here. Quick put out the salad bowl so we can make some Snow Ice Cream. Who knows where the bowl went to in the morning! So this is a picture of what we woke up to Monday morning.
Next on Christmas Eve we took the kids out ice skating at the ice rink that the hockey association build. Outdoors so it's really freezing. By 8pm the wind was starting to blow. Really Blow! Bryce and I froze out and came home around 7:30pm Phil and Francis stayed, and played some more. I'll post some pictures later today. (since I have nothing better to do until the snow stops blowing around!) I guess Phil and Ken Davis went and added more water to the rink to make sure the ice is nice and thick for when it warms up next week for a few days. That way we don't lose our ice. Phil and Francis made it home by 9:30pm. By then the weather wasn't just talking winter warning anymore they were talking blizzard. Blowing snow, and white out! Here I thought white out was that stuff in a bottle that you used to correct typing mistakes. NOT!
This morning we awoke to a new blanket of snow. Just check out the pictures.
Also that black pipe sticking out above the garden hose storage is for our furnace. Had to go and take a shovel out there after this picture was taken so that it wouldn't get buried. LOL! Like my apple tree in the background? Purdy with all that snow on it isn't it?
Sorry this picture isn't the best. I had to take it from the bedroom window. I couldn't get to a good enough spot to take this picture because of how deep the snow is. Oh and I did remove that glass salad bowl and we did make snow ice cream. YUM!
I had to get this picture in because the trash didn't have any snow on it last night. Trash pickup was yesterday, and Phil got the tractor out with the snow blower and cleared the drive way up to the fence. Matter of fact he made himself this little trench like path from the workshop to the drive way. Well that trench/path GONE! Totally under snow, almost flat across.
Can you tell the Hawaiian part of me is just fascinated by this weather phenomenon. Now my friends in Canada, Illinois, Missouri, and places like that are going "Oh that's nothing you should see what it's like here". Still for me this is AMAZING! Hope everyone has a great Christmas day. Stay in stay warm. Unlike us who have kids that want to go out to Bartz Field and sled!!!
